2017 Southeast Biking Symposium!  Hilton Head Island, SC.

March 23rd – 25th, 2017, is the date of the Southeast Biking Symposium!  Hilton Head Island, the only Gold-Level Bike Friendly Community in the Southeast, will host a unique conference experience, bringing together thought-leaders, change-makers and community stakeholders throughout the Southeast in the interest of realizing our region’s bicycling tourism potential, impact on economic development and interest in safety. More than a series of seminars, this exchange of ideas will give participants the chance to build on our region’s rich bicycling tradition together, whether it be for active cyclists, seasoned riders or recreational biking. Symposium attendees will participate in, and take home, current and emerging trends for real-world implementation.  Hosted and presented by HHI Visitor’s & Convention Bureau, this event is in cooperation with the Palmetto Cycling Coalition and Georgia Bikes.

Past SC Summits

In 2014, the PCC held the first South Carolina Bike Summit. The Palmetto Cycling Coalition and Bike Law biked across the state hosting Summit Socials and Safe Streets Training sessions in six cities, from November 17-22.

In 2012 the PCC collaborated with Georgia Bikes to host the Georgia-Lina Bike Summit.  Read the recap here!

Other Summits to Attend

If you’re looking for insights for your local movements, every year, North Carolina and Georgia have state summits that can be helpful to you, in addition to being easier to get to compared to a national summit.  Also every year, the Palmetto Cycling Coalition attends the National Bike Summit (hosted by the League of American Bicyclists; every March) as SC state coordinator in federal lobbying efforts, and we always bring back lessons learned (see our blogs) for you and other local advocacy leaders.
