Great opportunities in Anderson, Charleston

There are upcoming opportunities of interest happening in Anderson and Charleston. First, our friends in Anderson with the Complete Streets Advisory Committee and Great Escape Bicycles are hosting their first bicycle master plan workshop on March 22. The meeting is taking place at 6pm at the Anderson Recreation Center in the lovely Electric City. In the meeting, the Advisory Committee hopes to gauge citizen interest in Anderson bicycling opportunities. Contact Blake Sanders for more information.

Second, our colleagues at the Charleston Civic Design Center are hosting the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals webinars for anyone to join them in viewing. According to Stephen Risse with the CCDC,

Throughout this year the Charleston Civic Design Center will be hosting a series of free webinars focusing on the idea of improving bicycle and pedestrian facilities in and around the City of Charleston. The webinars are created by the Association of Pedestrian and Bicycle Professionals (APBP), and will be hosted at the Civic Design Center’s main conference room, at 85 Calhoun Street. Participants can expect a 1-hour web-based powerpoint presentation with live audio stream on best-practices and case studies by the webinar’s professional presenters followed by a short roundtable discussion with fellow local participants  on the applicability of ideas shared for the Charleston area specifically.

Upcoming APBP webinars at the CCDC include:

April 20, 2011 • 3:00 – 4:00 ET
June 15, 2011 • 3:00 – 4:30 ET
July 20, 2011 • 3:00 – 4:00 ET
