Rock Hill Continues to Rock n’ Roll

We’ve been talking a lot about Rock Hill lately, and for good reason. The City has quietly, and persistently, been making some great progress in the development of a more bicycle friendly community. And one recently announced advancement will help culminate all of these exciting developments: a downtown bicycle and pedestrian master plan.

Just a few weeks ago, we worked with the City and the League of American Bicyclists to facilitate a bicycle friendly community workshop in Rock Hill. At this workshop, the City’s Director of Planning, Bill Meyer, announced that the City had invested in a bicycle and pedestrian master plan. Bill shared very preliminary information from this plan. And on June 26, the community at large can find out more about the master plan in a public input session.

The session will take place at Glencairn Garden Learning Center, 825 Edgemont Avenue, from 5:30 – 7pm. For more information about the session, contact Donny Ritsema, City Long Range Planner (803.326.3893). The plan was led by City staff, the business community, Winthrop University, SCDOT, and neighborhood representatives; it was developed by our friends at Alta Planning + Design.

Please join the City as they take this important step to improve the bikeability, safety, and connectivity of their community!
