PCC supports Walkability
The Surgeon General of the United States recently released a Call to Action on Walking and Walkability. The Palmetto Cycling Coalition showed support for this broader definition of vulnerable road users, by signing onto this national Letter of Support. We’re glad to be expanding our mission to include pedestrians, and also glad to be part of the growing movement to make our streets safer for everyone. Micro grants available and applications due Oct. 15, this year.
Make sure you read our current legislative agenda, which benefits pedestrians and many other vulnerable road users in SC.
Hello. I didn’t see this mentioned on your site or on your Facebook page, so I thought it’d be important to let Columbia residents know that Richland County is planning to have community meetings with the public about two future road widening projects on Clemson Road and Atlas Road. I heard on the news that they’re planning on having bicycle lanes and welcomed the public to contact them about these projects, so, I did so, letting them know about other cities’ physically separated bicycle lanes. I invite other cyclists who’d like safer, separated bicycle lanes for users of all ages, like in the Netherlands, to contact the project leader at [email protected] , as well, to change cycling in SC for the better.
