Midlands Gives -> May 5th

Please consider donating to PCC during Midlands Gives, May 5, (https://www.midlandsgives.org/palmettocycling).

Your donations are critical to continuing our work! We are a lean organization, now feeling the impact of the current times, due to many cancelled fundraising rides. Our goal May 5th is $10,000, with the first $1500 matched dollar-for-dollar by Cycle Center bike shop and the PCC board.

What have we done lately???

In February 2020, the SCDOT Secretary announced she was developing an agency Departmental Directive for Complete Streets, a result of our work. This year marks the culmination of a multi-year, coalition-style campaign for a state policy for safer roads.

Click the video below, to hear the Secretary in her own words.

“I want to publicly thank the PCC … as well as the SC Livable Communities Alliance. They have been working very closely with us looking at design policies, crash statistics, and other innovative approaches to try to deal with this epidemic issue we have of pedestrian fatalities…”

The SOT announced that she would soon roll out a “…policy of the agency on multi-modal accommodations, … and that will be bolstered by formal changes to the design manual as well… There’s been significant movement on this issue not only here at headquarters, but a lot of our district offices…”
