Swamp Rabbit Trail Economic Impact Report: Year One

The wildly popular Greenville Hospital System Swamp Rabbit Trail gives Greenville residents a safe, beautiful place to walk, bike and play, but the trail has also been beneficial to local business as well. Greenville Rec, Upstate Forever, Dr. Julian Reed of Furman University want to share just how successful the trail has been at a press conference to release the findings of the first year of an Economic Impact Study. The press conference will be held on Wednesday 11 a.m. at the Swamp Rabbit Cafe & Grocery and will outline the changes to the local economy caused by the trail.

This report will cover the first of three years of study. This first year was covered by EPA Sustainable Skylines, Furman University and the Greenville-Pickens Area Transportation Survey; Bikes Belong will be funding the second year. The trail is still seeking funding for Year 3 of the study, and with results like these, we cannot wait to see the full three-year report completed. The first year report will be available online following the press conference on Wednesday if you cannot attend or would like a closer look.
